We believe transparency matters, so every document is here for you to see and judge for yourself. Every child’s future is a shared responsibility, and it is our duty to protect the heart of our community, our schools.

Two Texas Laws You Should Know

Texas Open Meetings Act

This law says government meetings, like school board meetings, must be open to the public with clear notice and agendas. Officials cannot hold secret meetings or break into smaller private meetings that, together, add up to a quorum and amount to a meeting that should have been public ( Texas Government Code, Chapter 551).

Nepotism

This law prohibits public officials from hiring, appointing, or approving employment for close relatives within certain degrees of relation. It is designed to prevent favoritism and ensure that government jobs and promotions are based on qualifications, not family ties. (Texas Government Code, Chapter 573)
